My Top 3 Matte Lipstick Under $10

Hello!
So if you haven't heard already, matte lip is the it girl of beauty world these days. Everybody raved about it and if you're one of those person who just want to try out this matte lip trend and you're not sure if you're going to love it (trust me, you will), also you couldn't care less if it's a liquid lipstick, a lipstick, or a lip crayon for that matter, you can check out these 3 brands that provides amazing products for under $10 (150k rupiah).

In the past two months I have acquired 10 brands of matte lip products to test it out and make sure I did my research! I have tried (1) Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Cream Liquid Lip Color, (2) City Color Be Matte Lipstick, (3) e.l.f Studio Matte Lip Color Lipstick, (4) LA Girl Matte Pigment Lipgloss, (5) NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, (6) Wet n Wild Mega Last Matte Lipstick, (7) Nabi Matte Long Lasting Lipgloss, (8) L'oreal Paris Color Riche Matte Lipstick, (9) Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color, (10) ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Liquid Lipstick
Ten brands and that is only the tip of the iceberg. There are a tons more out there but those are the ones that I have seen frequently circulating around in the beauty world.

These three that I picked out are the ones that I think worth the money, not (too) drying, have great pigmentation, good packaging, and have decent lasting quality. Well, let's get started!

The least favorite from my top three but nonetheless still a lovable product :

L'oreal Paris Color Riche Matte Lipstick ($9)

The reason why it's my least favorite is because of the price. It's the most expensive from my three choices. I think most of the money goes into the packaging. I do feel the packaging is beautiful and classy; like a superstar. I purchased three colors : Jasmine (Naomi), Nymphea (Eva), and Spring Rosette. The pigmentation is okay on the darker color but Jasmine is really difficult to get the color out. I'm keeping it tho because once you get it all worked up, it's a beautiful nude peach color.
One thing I noticed the most is how moisturizing this lipstick is. Hence, it's not very matte.. I would say it's more like a satin finish but not glossy in any way. I do noticed the staying power is very low. It can stand light drinking but eating will get the color off. Not completely, you still have some color left, but you definitely need to reapply. It's not kiss-proof either. No strange wax smell like cheap lipsticks usually have.

The runner up is NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream ($6 - $8)

This one is actually my personal favorite (explains why I have five of them) but it's slightly more expensive than the first winner so it's booted to number 2. Packaging-wise, I don't think there's anything special about it. It's just very practical. This one is like a liquid lipstick, so you do have an applicator and I do like the applicator. I actually have six shades but my Buenos Aires is currently misplaced so here are (L to R) : Cannes, Zurich, San Paulo, Tokyo, and Istanbul.
This lip cream is very easy to use and highly pigmented on darker colors. Lighter colors like Tokyo and Istanbul is a little more tricky because it's patchy when applying. The finish is also semi-matte. . . More matte than L'oreal ones but not completely matte. In terms of staying power, it does stand light drinking and eating but for a meal, you do need to reapply, especially if it's greasy food. It does have a faint vanilla scent but it's gone when you apply it. It takes me about 10 minutes to finally feel the cream dries and becoming matte. My favorite color is San Paulo! It's a beautiful bold pink color. This product is not kiss-proof.

My first pick is Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color ($3-$5)

And the winner is Jordana! Really, I can't say enough good words about it. I only have two but I'm planning to add more to my collection. This is also in form of a cream just like NYX but this one is completely matte and completely kiss-proof (not so much on the Red Velvet Cake). This one is very long lasting even a greasy meal later and it's still looks good; only inner lip are ruined. The formula is a dream, it's very pigmented and so easy to apply even for beginners. Also, it dries like a fast and furious car, very very quick! The best part? It's a steal! Only $3 or $5 depends on where you buy it. Packaging is nothing special either but for its quality, I am willing to look past it. And believe it or not, the Creme Brûlée shade is the one I'm wearing while typing this. If you do want it to be less drying, you can use a lip balm for 10 minutes, tap it off lightly with a tissue, and then apply your Jordana lip color.

Here are the swatches. Will come back and update when I have the chance to take photos of them on my lips. It's raining cats and dogs so its super dark making it impossible to take good photos.

Other brands that are worth mentioning are :
Wet and Wild Mega Last Lipstick (especially in Bare It All; a great dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy) which is a good lipstick but I don't find them to be matte at all and its drying on me. I do think they have decent pigmentation and a very very wide range of shades to choose.
ColorPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick is also a good choice. It is completely matte but on me it is drying altho I haven't try it with the lip balm trick thing. It is also very pigmented and easy to apply altho it's a little runny so beginners might need some practice.

Anyway, I do hope you find this post is somewhat informative or useful.
Wishing everyone a great week ahead!
