When a summer ends, I guess we all feel just a little bit sad. However, I am also happy with the colder weather cause I get to reunited with my beloved blazers! I am sort of a blazer collector, I supposed. So yes, it's a mixed feelings came on this end of summer.

Just a short and sweet post for you. I am currently in Singapore for a little getaway.

I am a helpless dreamer and I have faith in fairytales. However, I also aware that this is real world. No prince charming will gallantly galloping in a white horse and take me to his castle. It is sad sometimes, cause I love white horses, but sadness is easy because it means surrender. I say, make time to dance with one hand waving free.

I wore this dress three times already (here, here, and here) in this blog and I have no regrets. I enjoy recycling outfits. It's all the matter of adding an outer or switch the accesories. We are not superstars and we will not be rewarded if we wear different outfit every single day. So take a look at your closet and be creative.

Apologies for such a pale face. I haven't been feeling particularly well.

To forgive is such a beautiful thing. Here in Indonesia we are celebrating Eid Mubarak  for our Moslem friends. It is a custom to greet each other with "please forgive all my mistakes" and I think it is just lovely. We are human after all and we make mistakes, we hurt our peers unintentionally/intentionally, we talk awful things, and how nice it is that there is one special day where people ask for forgiveness and forgive each other. 

Forgiveness is not for the weak. It is only for those who are strong enough to do so. Forgiveness is the strength to give up your right to hurt other who hurt you. It means overlook things, to turn ourselves from the victim to the survivor. And when you forgive, you love, and when you love, God's light shines upon you.

Therefore, I would like to say, Happy Eid Mubarak for those who are celebrating. May you have a joyous time with your loved ones. And please forgive me if I ever said (or is it typed?) something that might offend or hurt you. I do regret it. It is not in my nature to hurt people. If I do say hurtful things, please believe that I said it for your own good.

Our flag has red and white color. The red represents the blood shed by our ancestors in order to reach the truest independence. While the white represents the clean beautiful start of freedom for our country. I actually love my Indonesia. Despite the hideous traffic, the crazy endless quarrels between religions, the unsafe streets practically everywhere, but this country also has so much natural beauties, hidden beaches, respect for elderly (we don't send our grandpa/grandma to a nursing house!), and our most famous smiley faces.

Uncanny valley is a term where someone feel an aversion towards something that looks so much like human, but not quite a human. Such as artificial hands. For the strangest reason, this term fascinates me and it made me thought about all sorts of things. I'm not the one who against helpful invention for things like artificial hands or any other limbs or even, an organ. However, I'm not a fan of robots. They give me the creeps. It's like if we try so hard to play God, the real God might be offended and condemned us to be the slave instead. I guess another reason for this uncanny valley is because we human feels threatened for our own mere existence. Our body parts can be so easily replaced, with such uncanny resemblance, what will stop them from replacing our mind? Our soul?

All in all, I believe that this uncanny valley is our instinct telling us to stop playing God, simply cause we are not God.

Just another silly musing. I think too much. It does me no good, I know. It's a bad habit that I'm trying to get out of. 

As for the outfit, I wore this dress quite often but  never got a chance to remix it into something new. Decided to paired the dainty dress with some edge by adding leather jacket and mirrored sunnies. I love the John Lennon vibe it has! And albeit the fact I am not suited to act all cool, I tried. And failed, naturally. However, I don't think the pictures look that bad!

Day dresses are one of my weakness. They are so practical and you don't need much thinking in styling them besides adding a bag and a pair of shoes and off you go! I threw on my sling bag sent by the kind Oasap and pulled out my wedges that haven't seen sun rays for a while. I love the delicate rose patterned!

As for the title, Emerge, it's the upcoming event that will keep me occupied for the next two months. It's an event held by my youth church, XG. Emerge is a place where you can meet new people and has some friendly competitions which are all super duper fun!

Emerge is an event to exercise three part of our body. In every human, we have a body, a soul, and a spirit. One plus one plus one equal one. It's a mystery but it also totally make sense! For body, we have footsal, basketball, and computer games. For soul, we have XG Factor and Fashion Photography. For spirit, we have preaching and memorizing verses from Bible. If you are interested, in Fashion Photography, read on! As for other competition, you can contact XG headquarters.

To be qualified, you must attend the event here in Bandung you also must be in the age of 13-30 years old. There are some others requirements of course but as long as you are around that age, has a camera (pocket and DSLR and SLR are very appropriate but no phone camera is allowed), and passionate about fashion or photography, you are very welcome to join!

There are six themes for you to choose. Sweet Edgy. Bohemian Hippie. Fun In The Sun. Whimsical. Everyday Diva. Winter Wonderland. I am so bummed that I have to be one of the committee. I am so itchy to do a whimsical photo shoot! The grand prize is Rp 2.500.000. I am getting even more vexed when I remember the grand prize. So YOU are so lucky you have a chance to win that. Weekend is here! Went to one of my favorite cafe and had our sugar fix with the best red velvet cake in town. Feeling rather tired the other day (most likely because the brutal body combat class I had the day before) so I threw on something super simple. A vintage blouse and high waisted short. One of the ultimate combo that never failed me. 

I will spend my Saturday night as usual, at GBI Aruna no. 19. I'll see you there, perhaps?
