Tapal Market Bandung

Hi, everyone.
Went to Tapal Market Bandung a few weeks ago. We went to Tapal Market Bandung on a Thursday for lunch but surprisingly, Tapal Market has an almost full house with reservations. Luckily, we managed to get a table right away.
Tapal Market Bandung interior leans modern-indistrial with soft wood accents, muted earthy tones, and an open kitchen that makes the whole space feel even more intimate. It’s the kind of place that is perfect for a slow brunch, casual lunch daye, or simply escaping Bandung’ traffic for a while.

What makes Tapal Market interesting though, isnt just the design, it’s the menu. Instead of serving the usual cafe dishes, they experiment with Indonesian flavors. A fusion,  you might say.

Tapal Market Bandung

I tried the Ramen Lodeh (Rp 76k), and surprisingly, it works. The broth still had that familiar lodeh taste, but creamier and richer, a fusion between collagen soup and santan. I do like it and find the taste unusual but comforting yet familiar at the same time.

Tapal Market Bandung

Husband ordered Gulai Ayam Bakar (Rp 70k) and this one is also good. The grilled chicken was different than what we usually get in gulai but overall it tastes like a good regular gulai.

Tapal Market Bandung

As for dessert, we tried the Es Potong Lembang. Nothing mind-blowing, but still refreshing enough to end the meal nicely. I do like the new presentation of es potong tho, very pretty visually.

Tapal Market Bandung

We also shared the Tapal Fries, which turned out to be oddly addictive. The fries are cut into chunky little square shapes, making them extra crispy outside while still soft inside. Tiny detail, but it made them feel more fun to eat somehow. The dipping sauce was reaalllyy yummy tho. Def the star of this dish.

Tapal Market Bandung

We also got two kue balok to go. We ordered the chocolate one and it tastes like brownies.
Nothing special tho.

Tapal Market Bandung

Overall we had a nice time. The staff were all cordial and our food and drink came out fast enough. Place is also surprisingly cozy. Altho Tapal Market place  is kinda tricky to find since the entrance is inside the alley.

Kisah manis huis bandung

Hi, everyone.

Went to Kisah Manis Huis Bandung a month ago. Kisah Manis Huis Bandung just opened a few months ago and were instantly a hit thanks to the swimming pool. Yes you can actually swim (you pay extra tho) and Kisah Manis Huis also provide a shower room.

We went to Kisah Manis Huis Bandung on a Saturday for lunch and place was empty since it was still fasting month.

Kisah manis huis bandung

Kisah Manis Huis Bandung also has spacious lawn area perfect for kids to run around or play bubbles.

Kisah manis huis bandung

The outdoor seats can actually be fun for before sunset hours & dinner. It was way too hot for lunch tho.

So we chose to sit indoor where it’s cool.
Kisah Manis Huis Bandung interior were dominated with lots of woods and yellow accents here and there creating a cozy and warm atmosphere.

The pool area. Unfortunately, pool is quite deep so kids def will need their floaties & under supervision at all times.

Kisah Manis Huis Bandung also has a small playground.

Looks like a claw machine but it’s actually a photobox.

For the food, I ordered MeatBall Bolognese (Rp 65k).
The meatball was actually pretty good, fragrant and cooked nicely. Spaghetti was al dente but tbh, the sauce was too watery for me. Wished the sauce was a bit more thick. Overall, not bad.

Review Kisah manis huis bandung

Husband ordered Nasi Barendo Kari Sapi (Rp 60k) and he enjoyed it. It’s savory and spicy. Portion was decent too.

Kisah manis huis bandung

I’ll be honest, this one is my friend’s order so I can’t say much about these.

Kisah manis huis bandung

I also ordered Kopi Kisah Manis (Rp 33k) and it was good. A bit too strong for me but it has a nice creamy taste.

Kisah manis huis bandung

Overall we had a nice time and would def recommend if you’re looking for a place that also doubles as entertainment for your little ones. My friend’ son recently had his birthday so I bought him a remote boat toy as a birthday present and he played it at the pool.

Food and drinks came out fast enough and all the staff were cordial and accommodating.

The Square Room Bandung

Hi, everyone.
Went to The Square Room Bandung x The Deli Bakes a few days ago. The Square Room Bandung is a cafe that serves donuts, sandwiches, smoothies, and of course coffee. We went to The Square Room Bandung on their 2nd opening day so place was packed. Thankfully we still managed to secure their donuts.

The Square Room Bandung

The Square Room Bandung has a playful yet futuristic vibe with their combo of bold orange color and all the squares incorporated into their interior design. I do love the orange! Such a fun color for a cafe.

The Square Room Bandung

The Square Room Bandung

We got 5 square donuts. Yes, square. Very unique indeed I have to agree.  The one in the orange box is The Square Room Bandung bestseller donut, cereal donut.

We also got peanut butter jelly, pistachio, and the pink one is filled with lychee cream.

We had the pink one on the spot and it was so good. The donut was soft, fluffy, has a very nice chew to it, moist, and not greasy at all. Love love the lychee cream filling, it was sweet but not too sweet and had a slight floral scent for the after taste as well. Would def recommend the lychee cream donut.

The Square Room Bandung

We also got their smoothie. This one is Sunfuel Smoothies (Rp 75k). A tropical blend of mango and pineapple with yogurt, oat milk, honey, and homemade date puree. I also like this one. It was creamy and not overly sweet despite all the honey and date. And yes, the cup is square. They do take their concept very seriously.

The Square Room Bandung

We also got their Roast Beef Sandwich (Rp 110k) as a takeaway and ate it at home. I have to say, the taste is not something you’ll easily get in Bandung. It kinda remind me of Australian’ cafe sandwich type. Delish tho! But for the price, you kinda expect it. Portion was very generous. A very satisfying sandwich.

The Square Room Bandung

Also, can confirm the cereal is not just a hype.
The cereal donut was everything. The milky cream filling was perfection combined with the crunchy cereal. Ah I wish I can eat it for the first time again.

The Square Room Bandung

Overall we had a nice time. Despite the busy crowd, our smoothies and sandwich came out at a perfectly acceptable time (about 15 mins).
