Hi, everyone.
Went to Tapal Market Bandung a few weeks ago. We went to Tapal Market Bandung on a Thursday for lunch but surprisingly, Tapal Market has an almost full house with reservations. Luckily, we managed to get a table right away.
Tapal Market Bandung interior leans modern-indistrial with soft wood accents, muted earthy tones, and an open kitchen that makes the whole space feel even more intimate. It’s the kind of place that is perfect for a slow brunch, casual lunch daye, or simply escaping Bandung’ traffic for a while.

What makes Tapal Market interesting though, isnt just the design, it’s the menu. Instead of serving the usual cafe dishes, they experiment with Indonesian flavors. A fusion, you might say.
I tried the Ramen Lodeh (Rp 76k), and surprisingly, it works. The broth still had that familiar lodeh taste, but creamier and richer, a fusion between collagen soup and santan. I do like it and find the taste unusual but comforting yet familiar at the same time.
Husband ordered Gulai Ayam Bakar (Rp 70k) and this one is also good. The grilled chicken was different than what we usually get in gulai but overall it tastes like a good regular gulai.
As for dessert, we tried the Es Potong Lembang. Nothing mind-blowing, but still refreshing enough to end the meal nicely. I do like the new presentation of es potong tho, very pretty visually.
We also shared the Tapal Fries, which turned out to be oddly addictive. The fries are cut into chunky little square shapes, making them extra crispy outside while still soft inside. Tiny detail, but it made them feel more fun to eat somehow. The dipping sauce was reaalllyy yummy tho. Def the star of this dish.
We also got two kue balok to go. We ordered the chocolate one and it tastes like brownies.
Nothing special tho.
Overall we had a nice time. The staff were all cordial and our food and drink came out fast enough. Place is also surprisingly cozy. Altho Tapal Market place is kinda tricky to find since the entrance is inside the alley.
