Sydney Vacation Diary

View from Mrs. Macquaire's Chair
Hi, guys!
I have a confession. I was a terrible blogger during my Australia trip. I was so focused in getting our pre-wedding photos taken perfectly that I forgot to snaps my surroundings. Despite that fact however, I will try my best to recreate the 5 days that we spent in Sydney from March 12th to March 16th.

Day One

So we landed on a Sunday. After 6 hours flight and a little drama thanks to the left-behind-suitcase, we didn't do much that day. Our only goal was to visit Paddy's Market which is a great place to shop for souvenirs. They have all you can think off, from nail clipper to pens to t-shirts with Australia or Sydney written all over it. It's an indoor market that only opens on Wednesday and weekend. There were no air conditioner but it wasn't excruciatingly hot either.
After that we had dinner with my aunt and her big family. And that's pretty much it of day 1.

Day Two

a little sneak peek from Mrs. Macquaire's Chair
On day two, since it was the only sunny day we're about to have in five days, my fiancee and I make sure we tick off as much places as we can in one day. We ended up went to five spots. The Opera House, Mrs. Macquaire's Chair, Paddington's Reservoir, Auburn Botanic Garden, and La Perouse. We took great photos and I was very happy with the results :)
We ended that day with a super yummy dinner at Bare Grill & Cafe. The burger was good and the fries were super good. Oh, we had an uneventful lunch in a random food court on the closest mall we could find.

Day Three

On the third day, my fiancee and I decided to take a break from all the photo taking and focused on getting our tourist on. The day started on a cloudy note as we make our way to the first stop which is Motorcycle Accessories Supermarket. My brother-in-law was looking for some part for his bike and he thought he tried to found one altho to no avail. After that, we went to Koala Park, which you can read more by clicking here. It rains a little bit when we were there. The next stop is lunch and we went to Hurricane's Grill at Darling Harbour.

After filling up our batteries with good food, we left to visit Sea Aquarium. The aquarium was underwhelming. It's in no way comparable to Singapore's Sea Aquarium. Can't believe people wait in line to get the tickets tho! I did managed to take cute outfit pics in Darling Harbour which you can check out by clicking here.

We ended that day with a dinner at my aunt's house.

Day Four

On day four, we were determined to finish off our list. That day we had sun for a little bit so we tackled two spots before the rain started. First stop is The Church of Saint Mary and the second spot is Queen Victoria Building. After that we had another uneventful lunch at the Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre's foodcourt. Spent the afternoon doing a little shopping. We ended that day with a Korean BBQ feast at Won Jo. I mean, no joke, we left with 5 containers to go consisting of all meat based dishes. Safe to say, I didn't eat Korean food until the next week. The food was delicious and service was great! We had a good night sleep for sure after that.

Day Five

So it's our last full day in Sydney and we decided to visit Bondi beach altho it started to rain as soon as we arrived, we managed to get one cute pre-wedding worthy photo tho. After Bondi, we had lunch at Ryo's Noodles. Again, despite being so recommended, this one is underwhelming. I choose Ippudo any day. After Ryo we went back to Birkenhead Point Outlet because well, they have great deals! I purchased and Oroton bag, if you guys are interested. I bought it for 50% off!

empty Bondi beach because of the rain

For dinner, my aunt and her family took us to a Vietnamese dinner at Old Thanh Huong Restaurant. And then early bedtime for us since we have 8AM flight to Melbourne the next day.

Thank you so much for reading! I'm sorry for the lack of details such as ticket price, etc. I promised to take detailed note on my next trip :)
I did put the name of the places we visited in a bold red text, in case you just want ideas of places to visit while you're in Sydney.

I'll see you in my next post and have a happy midweek!
