A Look Back to 2019

Hi, guys!
If you read my previous post, you'll probably left with an impression that I was a miserable little lump all year but surely I wasn't miserable through all 365 days of 2019, there were some fond (albeit brief) moments in there as well. And in line with my word of 2020 gratitude, I want to take a look back of 2019 and just be grateful that God still gives me these beautiful memories.

1. Celebrating My Birthday in an Orphanage
It was a dream. It was wishful thinking. But; I think about a year ago, I've always thought celebrating my birthday with the less fortunate, especially orphans. I am aware that I come from a privilege. I'm not a millionaire by any mean but I am blessed. My mother always say that we are blessed to be a blessing so I decided to just go for it.
My husband was against it at first but I was persistent. Like, Leslie-Knope-persistent. I am thankful that my husband was finally agree and we both planned the whole thing in 3 weeks. I am also thankful that I have such talented and kind friends who where willing to help because you know your girl right here is lacking in entertainment department. My husband' friend was in charge of the guitar, praise and worship, and even the short sermon. My friend helped me with games and we all had a blast.

The kids were amazing! You'd think there'd be a lot of sadness but all of them were very welcoming and all smile to all of us. They were singing their heart out, attentively listened to the sermon, and happily played with us. The staff of the orphanage were also very accommodating! Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my birthday. I sure hope I can do it again in the future. Maybe for my 35th?

2. Family Trip to Semarang and Yogyakarta
My father is a family man and love his daughters to death and since my little sister can't travel with us due to her condition, we almost never had a trip together with my father since he always wants to stay with my little sister. However, this year, maybe because of his grandkids, he decided for all of us
(except my little sister) to do a family trip.

It was a short trip, less than 4 days, but I couldn't help to feel a deep gratitude that I have a complete functional family. And hey, a very happy one. A dad, a mom, a sister, a husband, a brother-in-law, and two adorable nephew and niece. It was a nice trip indeed. I didn't post about our trip but I'd be sure to do so soon.

3. Finally Visited Mount Bromo
My sister and her husband went to Mount Bromo back when they were dating, so it was like 6 or 7 years ago? And I have been wanting to go ever since. And I am happy to say, even after years of anticipation, Mount Bromo did not disappoint. Man, nature is freaking glorious. I am grateful that I was able to see such magnificent sunrise in such an iconic place.
I did vlogged AND blogged all about it. Click here for the vlog and here for the special post.

4. Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary
Guys, being married is pretty great. I wouldn't be here typing if it wasn't for my husband. He was such a rock during my episodes. And I honestly wonder how he can be so patient. Literally, an angel sent for me, I'm sure. Husband, if you're reading this (cause he's not a reader; he usually just looks at the pics on my blog. LOL) thank you for being with me. Please stay with me until we old and die, ok?

5. All of Our Vacation Trips
To recap, back in January, my husband and I went to Singapore for 5 days and 4 nights. Man, it was the best time and we both were hopeful of the new year.
Then towards the end of April, we went to Pangandaran, I hadn't been there since I was maybe 10? So it was surprisingly fun.
After that on the end of June, we went to Semarang and Batu to checked off my bucket list of watching sunrise at Mount Bromo. And as I always make a point to visit a new place every year, Semarang and Batu were the two new places that I visited last year.
Last one, toward the end of October, my family and I went to Semarang and Yogyakarta.
I truly am grateful for all our vacation trips. I know a lot of people can't even afford a vacation so even tho most of my travels this year are local. it doesn't diminish the joyful memories.

And that is a look back of 2019. I only wish for less tears and heartbreak in 2020. Wishing everyone happiness and peacefulness.
