August Favourites

Hi, guys!
Apologies for posting a few days late. My cough seems to take #cantstopwontstop a little to literally. After the usual meds and two consecutive days of 9 hours sleep, I do cough less now, which is good. But anyway, enough talk about coughing, let's jump right in to some stuff that I have been loving in the month of August.

This pair made three appearances on my insta story in the past month and one doesn't have to wonder why. Just look at that gorgeous brocades. It is satin tho so I don't wear them as much as I want to since I fear of getting them wet. They surprisingly pair really well with my work pants (black or red of course) so I have been rocking the "after office" look lately.
Here is the direct link to the mules (they are back in stock!) -> Satin Embroidered Mules

My hair has been really dry lately, I'm not sure why, but I thought I should add an oil to my routine. My usual The Face Shop hair serum continue to be out of stock in the past two months so I just need something new, I guess. Stumbled upon this accidentally when I was doing my grocery shopping and I was like "why not". And so far, it really gives my hairs it shines back. I love that it's lightweight and the smell is not too strong. You can purchase this L'oreal Mythic Oil at Ulta.

I have not been using day cream since my last one ran out mostly because I'm more concerned about protecting my face from the UV rays than moisturising it. And it's too much of a hassle to put two coat of skin care before my make up. So I'm super happy that Shiseido finally add SPF to their day cream. That saves like 3 minutes of my morning and you can do a lot in 3 minutes. Like, drinking your coffee, for example.

I did a review of this palette which you can read all about it here.
This palette is so practical and I love that I don't have to pull out an eyeshadow palette AND a contour palette on top of that. I always put all of my make up back to its rightful place so this one palette is a time-saver for sure.

I read both of Connor Franta's book and I really like his second book better. His first book, "A Work In Progress" was okay but it sounds like written by someone who feel lost and scared. The second book, however, definitely has more weight into it and despite people calling it a bit "snobby" I still really like it. I found the poems are beautiful and I just love the confidence that exudes from his words. Definitely go for his second book first!

Saw Baby Driver a week ago and oh my, this movie is ah-mazing. I mean, my main reason to watch it is Jon Hamm, obviously, but Ansel Elgort's character was surprisingly endearing and his chemistry with Lily James was so sweet. I LOVE the second opening scene where Baby (Ansel Elgort) picked up coffee while jamming to Bob & Earl's Harlem Shuffle and the lyrics just show up seamlessly on screen. The racing scenes were really good too. Even my husband approved!

Guurrl, I see you. Taylor Swift's new single "Look What You Made Me Do" is everything. I can't stop listening to it. And you know what, it makes a great workout song too! The video clip is bomb and so many hidden easter egg there. Check out this article to find out. Btw, how gorgeous is that red dress? Me need it.

In my opinion, Game of Thrones best episode in season 7 is episode 6 "Beyond The Wall". The war scene with the White Walkers and the dragons are SO EPIC. I didn't feel it was a 70 minutes episode at all. And I knew they were going to bring back the dead dragon as a zombie dragon. Can't believe we have to wait two years for the next season.

And that's it for August Favourites.
Wishing everyone a great midweek!
