Hi, everyone.
Went to Bergamot Coffee & Resto by Sawo at Jalan Sutami Bandung earlier this day for lunch. We pass Bergamot Bandung almost everyday (the place is very near to our home) since they start the construction so we were excited to finally get to try Bergamot Bandung.
Upon entering you will be greeted with waterfall and greenery which makes really great first impression.
After that, Bergamot Bandung has one open space which creates a freeing feeling. The concrete flooring gives a cool modern vibe. And the wood ceiling balances it with inviting warmth. Overall, a very modern feel.
I do love the use of mirrors at the ceiling. Very gen Z.
Bergamot Bandung has a 2nd floor which has air conditioning. 1st floor is an open space so it is hotter but you do get some refreshing breeze every now and then so I think 1st floor would be great to get some fresh air.
The 2nd floor area was cool when we check it out so props to the owner because with all the glass on four corners, it can turn to a hot glass house situation real quick.
This is the outdoor area on the 2nd floor.
I do love the curving wall. Very chic & sleek.
We ordered Peach Iced Tea (Rp 30k) and it was your regular peach iced tea. Nothing special.
My husband ordered Nasi Goreng Kampung (Rp 38k) and it was so good. As good as you’ll get in your favorite nasi goreng right down the street. They got the smokey and sweet and salty flavor in perfect balance. And for the price, really worth it.
I ordered Tagliatelle Ilfungi Bisteqa (Rp 69k).
In my knowledge, I think they use Saikoro beef since it has the distinctive cube shape of Saikoro beef.
These cubes are often made from Wagyu beef, known for its marbling and tenderness. Saikoro beef is popular in Japan and is often used in dishes like rice bowls as a topping.
The beef is tender but I did expected sirloin or tenderloin slices as that’s how a bistecca is usually serve. But since is is a bisteqa and not exactly bistecca, I guess that’s fair.
The dish is delicious. The pasta was al dente. The mushroom sauce was perfectly seasoned. And the beef cubes were tender. So no complains really! I think for the price, you can’t really complain.
Drinks came out really fast.
Food came out fast as well, we were busy taking pics for about 15 minutes and when we got back to our table, both dishes were already served. Color me impressed.
For a trial opening, Bergamot Bandung is doing well.
I do think they could expand their dessert choices tho. Nothing interesting here.
Overall we had a nice time would def come back with my parents since they do have an elevator! Which is nice for old people who doesn't have much of mobility. Is it wheelchair friendly? I guess small wheelchair and baby stroller fits just fine.
My only complain is we were left standing for a good 3 minutes before I actually approach the girl behind the counter to ask if I can just sit since no one were there to take us to our table when there were three perfectly capable waiters just standing there
Parking is medium. I suggest go with small car if you have one. Also, no one were there to guide parking! The one guy with the uniform was just chatting away until the other one who where on the phone notice our car. We kept calling the one who were chatting to ask where we can park (parking area looks full) but I guess he didn’t hear us. The one who were on the phone finally got us our parking spot by moving a cone.
