"I hadn't been out to the hives before, so to start off she gave me a lesson in what she called 'bee yard etiquette'. She reminded me that the world was really one bee yeard, and the same rules work fine in both places. Don't be afraid, as no life-loving bee wants to sting you. Still, don't be an idiot; wear long sleeves and pants. Don't swat. Don't even think about swatting. If you feel angry, whistle. Anger agitates while whistling melts a bee's temper. Act like you know what you're doing, even if you don't. Above all, send the bees love. Every little thing wants to be loved." - The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.

As much as I love being a smart dresser and looking very modern-like my heart still beats like a hummingbird everytime I see a pretty vintage dress. I will take down the length of course so I can wear it on a regular basis without looking like I just stepped out of a time machine. But, viva vintage!
Wishing all of you a fun weekend with your loved ones...
My first post in 2014...
I hope you all had wonderful days so far. Just a quick update cause I'm not sure what to write... Yes, it's only the beginning of the year and I'm already having a writer's block.
Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend!

I usually do a "Best of (insert year)" every last day of the year. But since I have been doing that for the 2011 and 2012 in a row, I decided to not do it this time. Mostly because 2013 is not really my year. It has been a year where there are a lot of "almost", not to mention family crisis. You can say, it has been the time of broken hopes and dreams. However, I'm grateful for every moment, both that makes me cry or smile. I feel so blessed for the fact that I still able to live a fulfilled life with such wonderful people around me who would go above and beyond to make sure I'm happy and healthy.
I'm sorry for such a forlorn post. I do look forward for 2014 with the best and most positive mind!
So let me leave you (as per usual for my end of year post) with a quote for 2014.
"I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. As we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you're going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you." - C. Joybell C.
Happy New Year!
I have been seing plaids all over this winter and since I'm all about tea-length these days, I thought I should own a plaid skirt in that kind of length. What a better way to end the week than with a vintage plaid skirt. I got this one for less than US$10 and honestly, I had no idea how lucky I am sometimes! It has the perfect fit and despite being a bit longer than I hope (I might shorten it two or three inches...), this outfit turns out just the way I want to be. Casual and vintage :)
Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend ahead! Christmas is less than a week away. Are you excited?

Purchased this sailor dress a few days ago and I had a sudden enlightment to do a sixties inspired look. A beehive hair style, gigantic over the top sunnies, paired with red lips and you're all set. I hope you like this look as much as I do :)
Happy Monday and let's smile all week long!

This Diana lomo camera was collecting dust on the corner of my room so I thought it needs a little bit of sunshine. My blue vintage blouse also had difficult time getting out of the closet. I probably have them for almost 2 years now and I feel bad because I don't give them much attention. So here now they are out to play!
Let's have a great week ahead!

Owning a vintage dress is like having a safety net for those sunny days when you can't decide on what to wear. I often find myself panicking on what to pack for holidays cause I want to look chic yet keeping it simple and fuss free. A vintage dress is just one simple answer. The blue number in the previous post is a good deal but this one with the psychedelic flower prints has a bit more "oomph"which looks great in pictures. And we sure do take plenty of pics during holidays right? Plus point? The loud prints required even less accesorizing.
This set of pics mostly taken on Sultan Water Palace. Hence, the title :)
Anyway, it's been quite a sickish week for me.
Hopefully yours are healthier than mine!

Welcome, July!
It feels like it was just yesterday we were celebrating NYE and now here we are in the middle of the year already. I hope all of you are well. And I hope all of you are happy. Because a day wasted is a day when you are not laughing :)
As for the outfit, nothing really special. Just my usual vintage getup. I scored this top and shorts on my last vacation to Bangkok. Anyway, where are you going to in this sunny holiday season? Tell tell!

"As long as you're around, your life is too. So just as you shower love and affection and attention on the husbands, wives, parents, children, and forever friends who surround you, you have to do so equally with your life, because it's yours, it's YOU, and it's always there rooting for you, cheering you on, even when you feel like you can't do it. I gave up on my life for a while, but what I've learned is that even when that happens, and especially when that happens, life never gives up on you. Mine didn't and we'll be there for each other until those final moments when we will look at each other and say 'Thanks for staying until the end.'
And that's the truth."
The Time of My Life - Cecilia Ahern
Just finished reading The Time of My Life novel by Cecilia Ahern. Such a fun and interesting book! I really love how our life is perceived as a living breathing person and when we feel like crap, that life looking like crap as well. And when we are content and productive, that life looking sharp and handsome. Personally, not a must read book, but it's fun to fill in those times at night when you are waiting for the dreamboat to take you away..
How is your life lately?
Mine has been a busy one and I'm sure you are all too with the exams are coming up. One thing for sure, let's not forget to put attention to our own life. Appreciate your brave-relentless-self and never forget to indulge yourself everytime you accomplish something. Cause in the end, the only thing you can count on to get things done is yourself. Trust me, been there done that. No one can do it better than you :)
Have a great day, all!
