Day Three was a Sunday and I went to GBI Rock for their 1st service at 7 am. I personally love the atmosphere. Still, my church is the best for me tho.
First stop after GBI Rock was Bebek Tepi Sawah. It's highly recommended by everyone who ever visited this place. This is actually my second visit and I will definitely visit again on my next trip to Bali. The place is homey with overlooking to rice fields which is very soothing. Plus, the air is not as humid as Kuta. Price is very worth the food!

Next stop was Alila Ubud where there is Plantation Restaurant and we all enjoyed a refreshing Apple Cider. The restaurant is serene and overlooking the mountains which was a welcomed change from the beach-view for the past two days. Food and drinks are definitely pricey. A good place to kill time, reflect, and restore the soul.

We then took a walk along Ubud Village. Some bought scented candles and jars of jam. Some went to the Anomali coffee house. The cappuccinno tastes really good and thick. There's nothing special about the decor tho although it was very cozy. Overall a good place to relax the feet.

Last stop was Nuri's for their most famous pork ribs (yes, pork again, my group seems to be obsessed with this kind of meat). The place was definitely not cozy or condusive, but not that bad, plus the food was good.

Day Four and Five is right after this..

Anyway, wishing everyone a great Monday! Spirit!

First stop of the day was Tanjung Benoa for some water sport. There are so many options there and they have this new walking underwater program! Which sounds super fun but too expensive for us. Budget at least 300 thousand rupiah if you want to do anything here.

We had lunch at Bapa Dobile which serves porks. The food was okay and quite cheap for Bali standard but definitely not for the weak stomach! The owner didn't was his hand after received money from us to pick up side dishes for the next person. Thank God none of us was in any stomach pain afterwards.

Next stop was Klapa. The place is really cozy although the heat was unbearable but you can dip in to the pool right next to you. Plus, the beach is gorgeous! Even better than Kama Kandara's. Will definitely do a review of this place.

From Klapa, we went straight to Rock Bar which is located in Ayana Resort to catch a sunset. There is a dresscode but not too strict. You will not be granted a pass if you wear tank tops, flip flops, surfer shorts, or too short shorts. My suggestion for men is to wear a nice polo t-shirt with knee length jeans/chinos with decent summer sandals. And for girls, you can always wear your favorite summer dress. Will definitely do a review of this place!

Sorry for the blurry pic taken with my Blackberry.

We had dinner at Warung Made to taste Nasi Campur Bali which is not exactly my cup of tea but a must try if you visit Bali! It's super cheap considering the amount of food and the variety of side dishes in the plate. Didn't take any pics as I left my camera in the rented car.

I have two more days to show you. Stay tune :)

Hi, guys. Where did time go?
I feel like time needs to take a chill pill and slow down. Anyway, I heard terrible things about Jakarta flood and hopefully this nightmare ends soon. Let's get together in a prayer for this city. Hopefully everybody stay dry, stay safe, and stay hopeful!

Sunday Music is back in the house. Do listen to Philip Philips' Home. I have a soft spot for beautiful uplifting lyric (love songs are my favorites but there are SO MANY out there) and strong guitar melody in a song.

"Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons.
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found"

I'm back! Sorry for the lack of post. My scheduled post turned out really weird and it remained scheduled until now. I'm not sure what happened, I guess just some usual glitch. What important is, I have plenty of pics to share with you!

Bali was a pure bliss and I learn to love beaches more and surprisingly, didn't miss malls at all.
Hopefully you enjoy the pictures. I will also do review of places that I think a must visit for you :)
Outfit pics of what I wore in Bali will also come between the reviews.

We stayed at Grand Mega Resort and Spa located in Kuta. Which is quite a strategic place. The room is cozy although it was quite small. But most importantly, the rooms are clean. The staffs are all super helpful and friendly. The breakfast menus are also yummy! The pool is not that big, but there is a pool bar which is quite neat.

First stop was Karma Kandara which is a place with villas and a private beach. You can still go to the beach bar called Nammos if you're not renting a villa. This beach is GORGEOUS. Will definitely do a review of this place.

Second stop was El Kabron for lunch. It's a Spanish food restaurant and a cliff club. The outdoor was damaged due to the storm the day before, but we were able to order as usual indoors. Not sure to do a review or not. I have a mixed feeling about this resto. The food was okay but definitely not worth the price. The place is actually nice with yet another breath-taking cliff view and the decoration is very beachy.

Third stop was Potato Head to catch a sunset. It was a failed mission as the weather suddenly turned grim. The wind blew really strong and we were too scared of tsunami so we took off before the sun really set (it was so cloudy I couldn't see the sun, but about a half hour later, the sun was back on). Didn't take much pics so I won't do a review about this place. This place has a really nice ambience and you can sit exactly next to the beach. But the beach was dirty, although I'm quite sure it was because of the storm the day before we went there. Drinks are quite standards but definitely pricey. To be fair, they are known for their cocktails and none of us drink alcohol.. Didn't order food since we wanted to taste what was said to be the best pork ribs in town!

Wahaha definitely lived up to expectation. All my friends approve! The portion is quite big and you can share it with your friend. Place is not too cozy but the food is enough for the reason to visit. Price is very worth the taste.

And that was day one! Will come back tomorrow with day two.
Don't forget to join my giveaway. Will end in less than 14 hours.

Hopefully everyone will have a good night sleep..

So sorry for the 5 days hiatus. I have been preparing for my trip to Bali. Yeay!
I tried so hard to get excited and I realized I should just let it be. I have never been a fan of Bali although so many people love it. Why should I force myself to be excited about it? I only go there to escape for a little bit. Life has been really weird, and my mood swings are getting worse and random, and my insomnia is back, leaving me staring at my ceilings for too long with thoughts that are too solemn. Hence, the impromptu getaway!

This outfit is inspired by Yannick Bovy' Theoritical Love song. I am absolutely in love with his voice  (and handsome face) that is very Michael Buble-ish but in a hotter sexier Belgian way. The melody has such an old feel to it but still very romantic!

Wishing everyone a lovely day and don't forget to join my giveaway! Only eight days left.

~First post in 2013~

These pics were actually taken back in early November 2012. So grateful for a forgetful me so I have something to post cause the first three days of 2013 has been quite a busy one. Big family to visit to (3 hours away from my city!), works that has been piling up since Christmas (all the numbers made me dizzy. My poor poor brain), and new coming up project that needs more attention than ever. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

The Sweetest Escape would like to officially thank you new and loyal readers for reading this little corner of my creativity outlet for the past two and a half year (almost three this March!). Whether you have been with me since I was a nerdy uni student or recently discovered my blog, now, a modern day grandma who loves vintage too much to care less about the nickname, thank you, thank you, thank you!

To show my gratitude, I am holding a giveaway soon!
Come back tomorrow to see the details and join.

Hopefully everyone is having a good day!

Hi, guys! 2012 has been wonderful. Some bumps road, but I do believe those obstacles are just God's hidden blessings. Now here's my top ten favorite memories in chronological order. Hopefully, you enjoy reading (although it is long!) it as much as I enjoyed typing it.

(1)Went to Australia
In January, me and my big family went to Sydney, Australia for a cousin's wedding. (Read my Sydney Vacation Diary) Me and my sis went on our way alone to visit a dear friend in Melbourne as well for a few days. (Read my Melbourne Vacation Diary). It was a really fun vacation. I have never travelled out of the country with so many people before. At least without a tour. Hence, although it was hectic, but the little cousins and nieces definitely brings out the best in all of us :)

(2)Watched Annie The Broadway Show
My sis and I have a secret dream of becoming a Broadway performer and travelled all around the world. (Although for me, now it is shifted to be a costume department since it's also as fun but without the stage-fright). Therefore, we always up to watch a Broadway show and daydreaming of becoming one of them!

(3)Sisterhood Getaway to Singapore
In March, my sis and I went to Singapore. It was just the two of us and we managed to check all our must to do list (read my Singapore Vacation Diary). They are photoshoot at Singapore Botanical Garden, have a meal and tea time at TWG, ride the Transformers at Universal Studio, being hip in Clarke Quay, visited Narnia exhibition, watched Wicked The Broadway show, and last but not least, breakfast at Antoinette Mandarin Hotel. (Click the bold sentences to read more)

(4)Danced at World Prayer Assembly
It was truly an honour to dance on such a big event (there were around one thousand dancers!) in one of the most popular landmark in Jakarta and I am looking forward for the next project with Shekina Glory team in 2013! The six months of practice and physical training seems like nothing compare to the feeling of accomplishment we had after we finished with the event.

(5)Hong Kong trip with Chan Family
My circle of friends called each other with “chan” which is Japanese, and added at the end of your first name to sign a close relationship with the caller. There were eight of us girls strolled around Hong Kong. I enjoyed every second despite the exhaustion and the unbearable heat. (Read my Hong Kong Vacation Diary)

(6)A Successful Birthday Surprise from my friends
I am not sure why, but I seem to always ruin a birthday surprise for me. It was either I couldnt wake up at midnight or I spotted them accidentally. This year though, it was a success! And I can finally stop feeling guilty to my friends. LOL. So so lucky to have such great and caring friends!

(7)Attended Lux Event
It was sort of like a dream to be invinted to an event held by one of the big company in Indonesia. Although it's more for a beauty blogger (since Lux is a body soap brand) but I couldn't help but feeling lucky to be recognized from my little blog and then invinted to the event and met new blogger friends in person! (Read my review on the event : Dazzling Night)

(8)Graduated from Bible School
My church collaborated with ECC and invited the team from City Harvest Church Singapore who is well known for their School of Theology to held a mini Bible School here in Bandung. It was honestly one of the best decision in my life. In a course of six months, I learned a lot about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. And it really turned my life around! I mean, once you started living the way God wants you to live, I couldn't help but to quote McCandles here “God, it's great to be alive”. Really, my life has been multiplied, my capacity of loving and patience has grown, and I am more open also more confident because God's love filled all the way to my toes! When you feel loved, secure, and just at peace, life seems easy. And I honestly feel there's nothing I can not do with Him who give me strength. I strongly suggest all Christians in Bandung to sign up! There will new batch of class in 2013. Will update you later about the details :)

(9)Excellent Generation (XG) “Emerge” 2012 Youth Festival
Read more about Emerge : Emerge. All my life I have never been a fan of being a committee. But once I was thrown into the situation, although stressful, full of tears and sweats, it really does process you to be a better, more cooperative person. It was such a humbling experience to serve others, especially those who are not Christian. Also, with the motivation of serving your God, to save others who have lost their ways, it really bring all of us together into this one unison towards the same goal. And yes, it was a beautiful thing to see us youngsters under 30 worked so hard just to make sure one more people knows our great God and just feel His love in their life. That was the true reward. None of us were paid for all of our work, yet, each of us did give all their best. That is called bearing your cross!

(10)Getting Paid to Do What I Love
I honestly never dreamed of my blog to actually make money, although I do dream this blog brings me to many free-clothes. God really gives you more than you ever dreamed of! When I was contacted by Laku.com team to post several posts each month and get paid for every post, not to mention, to be given an allowance to shop at their store every month, I literally jump at the opportunity. It was really rewarding to make money from doing something that you love to do. Although the money is not much (plus the shopping allowance, it was half than my usual monthly paycheck) but it's enough to purchased my ticket to Bali this January :)

May 2013 brings more happy memories, or even tears, I don't mind, as long as I have my God and my family and my friends, any kind of situation seems fine. I never make any New Year resolution. It's sort of overrated, I think. But I do wish to be able to serve God more, travel more, and basically just "try", you know. Instead of saying "no" just because I simply don't think I could. I want to just "dream, explore, and discover" sort of thing going on in 2013.

"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world.
You're doing things you've never done before and more importantly, you're Doing Something. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry whatever it is : art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you're scared of doing, DO IT.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever." - Neil Gaiman

2013, here we come..
Have a happy New Year, all!
