Weekend is finally here and I'm sure you all excited to slip in into something more relaxed than the usual office attire. I hope you all will have a great weekend. Mine will be a tiresome one but it will be fun at the same time. We have another Little Act for Smile Campaign. Which originated from my cell group community. Basically we just try to put on a smile to someone else's face this weekend and share it online to deliver the message.

So let's smile through the weekend! :)

I can honestly tell you how I used to avoid pink at all cost. It was my I-love-black days (still like black, it's a versatile color) but it was more than five years ago. Now, my closet seems to have a pink item here and there. And this oversized bow is just the latest addition to this uber girly color collection of mine. It's amazing what five years can take you. I cannot wait to see how my wardrobe will look like in the next five years! :)

Happy midweek, all.

This Diana lomo camera was collecting dust on the corner of my room so I thought it needs a little bit of sunshine. My blue vintage blouse also had difficult time getting out of the closet. I probably have them for almost 2 years now and I feel bad because I don't give them much attention. So here now they are out to play!

Let's have a great week ahead!

And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child

And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of falling down in mid flight

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers

-Veronica A. Shoffstall-

It is important to fall in love with yourself first before you can love someone else. Because you cannot give what you don't have. Decorate your own soul. Make it so beautiful that you cannot help but to love yourself. And then you can love others. And that's when God's light shine upon you.

It's midweek already. Hang in there everyone!

"You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in.
You are what you take from these.
You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner.
You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life.
You are every single day.
So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence.
Let the words run through your veins and let the colours fill your mind."

People often get caught up trying to describe themselves. Like those scary questions that request you to describe yourself in five words. In my opinion, that is sort of impossible. Because you are not just words. You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life.

Have a great weekend, all!

sheep maroon sweater - Amore Knit, vintage shirt - BTC, polka dot flare skirt - Topshop, brown bag - c/o Laku.com , lace up flats - bought in Bangkok, watch - Guess
Hey guys, so I had no idea that iMovie cuts off a few inches above and below of the video. Hence, there are some parts that looks awkwardly cut in the weirdest places such as eyes and ankles. Too lazy to re shoot the whole 4 outfits. I instead take pics of all the outfits (altho outfit 4 seems to be missing a top, so I improvised) to compensate. Enjoy :)

Clashing two patterns in one outfit can be scary, but when it's done right, these brave combo can look surprisingly chic and fun. Let's check out some of basic strategy guides in mixing prints.

BACKGROUND SIMILARITY

When mixing prints, it's best to choose items that share a neutral background like brown, black, white or gray. It keeps you looking chic instead of sloppy.

Outfit Details
top, belt, rings, and bag - c/o Laku.com ;
flowery cardigan - bought in Bangkok,
siripade skirt - c/o Leony Evelyn
pointy flats - Nine West

COLORS SIMILARITY IN PRINTS

Make sure the patterns have at least a few colors in common. For example, the green and orange in my shirt matches exactly with the green and orange in my skirt. This is important when the two items don't share the same neutral background.

Outfit Details
heart printed shirt - Forever21,
brown belt - Cotton On,
skirt - Helo Strangers,
bag - bought in Jogja,
watch and bow ring- c/o Laku.com

MIX UP THE SCALE

If you want to mix up stripes with stripes or floral with floral or like this one polkadot with polkadot, it's perfectly fine as long as they're not in the same size.

Outfit Details
red polkadot top - Gaudi
polkadot skirt - from Mom
bag - Mango
heels - New Look
bracelet - Laku.com

LESS IS MORE

The most important rule when mixing patterns is don't go overboard. Only two pieces in one outfit should have a pattern and keep the rest completely plain. That includes jewelry.

Adding a plain outer is a good idea to bring the whole outfit together.
If you're shy, try small, such as a printed clutch with your printed skirt or top.

I hope the first day of August is treating you well.
Good day!
