Hi, everyone.
Went to Nichi Izakaya & Den Kaiseki Bandung for a lunch a few days ago. We went to Nichi Izakaya & Den Kaiseki on a Sunday so naturally I booked ahead. I booked a table in Nichi Izakaya & Den Kaiseki Bandung three days prior via Whatsapp. I booked for 7 people and no down payment necessary.

At first impression, place looks very nice. Nichi Izakaya & Den Kaiseki looks modern but still retain a Japanese feel to the whole atmosphere. Nichi Izakaya Bandung has indoor and outdoor area. We got indoor seats which has aircon. We arrived around 12PM and in 30 mins, almosy all the seats inside indoor area were filled. By the time we finished, around 1.30 PM, even the outdoor area were crowded.

First of all, I would like to apologize for the low quality of the food photos. I went there with my in-laws and was too embarassed to stage a photoshoot of the food.

Anyway, we ordered quite a lot since there were 7 people. The waiter and waitress were all well informed of the menu and except for the waitresses in training, they all know exactly which order is which.

Salmon Aburi (Rp 80k)
My husband and my mother in law approves. Husband said the salmon is nice and fresh.

Tamago Truffle (Rp 85k)
The menu said it’s Mekajiki Toro Maki.
If you like truffle, def order this. The tamago doesn’t have that egg-y smell and just tastes fresh (it was served cold too!). The topping tastes like potato salad but with truffles in it. I personally love it.

Yakiniku Nichi izakaya & den kaiseki bandung

Hireshita (sirloin 100 gr) was Rp 200k.
It is by no mean cheap but holy crap it’s really good.
The meat was perfectly tender and almost melt in your moth. It was perfectly seasoned as well.0

Bubur Nichi izakaya & den kaiseki bandung

Okayu Bone Marrow (porridge) Rp 115k.
We ordered two bowls for 7 people.
I personally not a fan but everyone else approves. You can also ordered extra cakue.

I ordered the main course which was Chicken Teriyaki (Rp 80k). It doesn’t come with rice so I ordered extra rice.
I loove this. Considering the price, I think it’s very much worth it. The chicken was tender with no chicken smell at all. The teriyaki sauce is 10/10 and I would definitely recommend this menu.

We also ordered gyoza and I would not recommend that. It tastes just like normal gyoza.
Surf & Turf  Maki was okay.

Tamago Shitake Maki (Rp 50k).
 I didn’t get to eat it and my husband also didn’t eat this so I’m not sure how it tastes.

My sister in law ordered soft shell crab spicy miso (Rp 245k) said the seasoning was too much she can’t tastes the crab.


Overall, I had a nice time and most of the food were delicious. It was expensive for sure (buat standar Bandung sih mahal ya) but it feels worth it. Food and drinks were served fast enough. Parking wasn’t bad at all. The staff were all amicable. Overall, would def recommend to try if you have a special event coming up. It was my mom’ in law birthday so we decided to treat her .
